In November, LallianSe continued its #MoneyQuest webinar series with a new episode co-hosted by Thierry Sarda(CEO eMyosound & member APIA).

A key theme in the development and articulation of investment theses: #governance, and in particular the #board – far beyond a mere obligation, it’s a crucial lever for value creation! A true accelerator or a hindrance, how do you build an effective board? What does an effective board even mean? How do you organize it to serve the company’s best interests? How do you compose it, keep it active, and manage it effectively?

#LImprodelaValo 3rd edition : an event not to be missed!

Remember the concept launched two years ago: theatrical improvisation matches focused on the challenges of promoting research and innovation in healthcare, where three teams face off… but with a twist: each player doesn’t play themselves! December marked the launch of the 3rd edition of “L’Impro de la Valo,” an event conceived in partnership with the Curie Institute and the Pasteur Institute. The presentation of the nine players laid the groundwork for this original format, blending promotion, collective intelligence, and improvisation.

Forum Biotechno PARIS 2025

In her dual role as #CEO and #Director of the DU GBM – Génie Biologique et Médical Julie participated in the roundtable discussion « From Bench to Boardroom : the CEO Journey », organized by the Réseau Biotechno. A great opportunity to share with #PhD students and young researchers a few perspectives on entrepreneurship, challenges and try to convince them to join the innovative environnement !

Together with Thierry Godelle and Xavier Duportet, founder & CEO Eligo Bioscience, under Victor Kreis ‘s moderation, Réseau Biotechno’s president, Julie shared insights of a CEO journey. Some take aways ?

Finally, in keeping with our commitment and with the aim of promoting initiatives from the field, we are pleased to highlight concrete achievements, share feedback and introduce those who work daily to improve care.

When healthcare professionals’ ideas become concrete solutions!

Giving healthcare professionals the resources and time to innovate in a tangible way for the benefit of patients and the hospital. Many talk about it, few have actually done it! This is what we initiated with the #ChallengeInnovation, which has been running within the APHP.Sorbonne University Hospital Group since 2017.

Following OB-E, the first project highlighted last fall, this time we’ve brought to light two more perfect examples:

– #Pikidou, conceived by Cécile Combes : a fun cactus-shaped toy at Armand-Trousseau Hospital to improve pediatric care.

– T-OUT, developed by Sandrine Bottius then Natasha Figueiredo : a digital escape game at Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital to support the transition from pediatric to adult care.

How can we do even better to support, promote, and integrate innovation driven by healthcare professionals? That’s the question we’ll address in our next article.

#BrainInnovationDays : From the pitch competition… to the round table!

A year ago, in autumn 2024, during the Brain Innovation Days, Braintale — represented by its CEO Julie Rachline — won the pitch competition, driven by a strong ambition: transforming #BrainCare.

In recent weeks, Julie Rachline, Alexandre Templier, Emmanuelle Voisin, Alain Chatelin, and Miranda Delmotte have shared their hopes and convictions for a more human, more ambitious, and more collective innovation in health..

#HOSPITALIMMERSION

Supporting innovation in health effectively means understanding the realities on the ground.

In 2017, we took a bold step: creating the first startup hosting space within a hospital, at Pitié-Salpêtrière (AP-HP).
After seven years, this immersion has shaped a unique experience that we now want to share through a dedicated article series.
Why this series?

Because innovation, to be meaningful, must be designed with healthcare professionals. Because these years of #immersion have shown us that ideas born in the field, when supported, become concrete solutions serving everyone.

In the 1st article we revisit the genesis of this ambitious idea:

How did this immersion open unprecedented dialogue between caregivers, hospital management, and innovators? Why and how did we launch the #ChallengeInnovation contests? And what lessons have we learned after 4 editions and 7 award-winning projects?

In the 2nd article we continued this storytelling with a concrete and inspiring example: OB-E, a project born from the expertise and commitment of caregivers to address a major public health challenge — obesity.

CEO-only events : what if the solitude of the CEO transformed into a collective experience?

In May, we and Goodwin France launched an exclusive #CEOonly morning coffee: a discussion space by and for Medtech CEOs. The valuable insights of Giovanni Lauricella (Lifeblood) & Martin Gomez (Goodwin), as well as the authentic experiences of our #PulseKeepers – Rémi Dangla (Stilla Technologies), David C. (RebrAIn) & Emmanuel VINCENT (Aenitis Technologies) – helped to open the debate. This #CEOonly sparked exactly what we hoped for: sincere discussions, relevant questions, and enriching interactions.

At the beginning of July, a new space was dedicated to CEOs to inspire constructive dynamics, get some fresh air, and think differently. Thank you to ERRARD Patrick for his philosophical insights – thank you to Spinoza, Kant, and other thinkers who illuminated these initial discussions, and to Mehdi Chelbi & Gilles Litman, the evening’s #PulseKeepers.

A new #talent

We had Mireille, the singer, then Eva, the entrepreneur/traveler, then Eve, the pastry cheffe, who gave way to Geoffrey, the guitarist… A few weeks ago, we were delighted to welcome Nandi Dondia, pianist AND seamstress, to the #LallianSe team, as an intern as a Start-up & Innovation Manager.

After an already impressive career path—chemical engineer, master’s degree at University Paris-Saclay, experience in intellectual property—Nandi recently completed the BioLaunchpad training course and presented her Papilio.Bio project to a final jury, which included Julie (a fun and inspiring moment!)🤝

Nandi joined #LallianSe with the mission of supporting our ambitious projects, helping build our #equitystories, and enriching her skills in #management, #strategy & #finance.

As 2025 gets off to a flying start, LallianSe continues to assert its role as a catalyst for healthcare innovation. More than ever, we are committed to supporting, connecting and catalyzing healthcare innovation.

2024 was a year of anchoring and structuring, and 2025 promises to be a year of consolidation

January began with the traditional 2025 wishes, an opportunity to share our vision for this new year and to affirm our ambition: to continue building bridges between healthcare stakeholders to transform innovation into concrete solutions. And as we wrote in our previous article, let’s write the rest together, literally! So we innovated and set up a virtual wish box this year, in which you can share a wish (personal, professional, for health or something else?) and become an actor in a collective manifesto that will be published during the year.

L’Impro de la Valo #2 : innovation at the heart of the action!

The highlight of January was undoubtedly the evening of L’Impro de la Valo which brought together an engaged audience. An evening which – we hope! – kept all its promises, between oratorical jousts, moments of laughter and strategic discussions around the challenges of valorizing research.

By the way… stay tuned… for a few days now, we have been looking back at the five key themes that marked the evening and sparked lively discussions.

FRM training: Transmitting to better innovate

How to transform a scientific discovery into concrete innovation?

This was one of the founding questions of the training day that LallianSe had the pleasure of organizing for the Fondation pour la Recherche Médicale. The objective: to support academic researchers in early therapeutic development and industrial transfer. We are convinced that innovation also involves the transmission of knowledge and key tools to better promote research. This session was an opportunity to share our expertise and support tomorrow’s players in their early strategic approaches.

Institut Imagine, BioLaunchpad program :

In this same spirit of sharing and support, we had the pleasure of speaking at the Biolaunchpad program, answering a question: Launching a startup in life sciences: where to start? From the valorization of research to entrepreneurship, including financing and strategic development, innovation in health is based on multiple expertise and strong synergies for which we contribute to transmitting our experience, challenging entrepreneurs, nourishing collective dynamics and trying to inspire the next generation of innovators.

The MedTech Forum – Malta : international recognition for LallianSe

Remember, after crossing the Atlantic in October to participate in The MedTech Conference in Toronto, then in #HLTH24 in Las Vegas, it’s time for #MedTechMalta2024 : a conference that brings together investors, startups, manufacturers, under the co-presidency of Giovanni Lauricella and Dylan Attard MD, MRCSI, MEnt.

Neighborhood, VCLS Innovation Center

For 3 years, LallianSe has been collaborating with Voisin Consulting Life Sciences (VCLS) and its #Neighborhood initiative: a #support program for #healthcare #startups that offers a series of interviews, discussions and mentoring sessions over 12 months. On December 3, the annual showcase marked the end of this adventure for the 2024 class, including a pitch contest highlighting their achievements.
But if this journey ends for the #Neighbors 2024… the adventure continues for our collaboration! We are delighted to continue this collaboration and to support the next #Neighbors promotion in 2025 with our #Sessions360°, designed to meet the strategic challenges of the program.

Eurasanté 

For the 4th consecutive year, we are #partners of Eurasanté through: BioFIT Event, MedFIT Event and MEDigIT Event. These annual meetings bring together key players, promote knowledge sharing and the emergence of innovative projects. As a #Health Integrator, we are happy to support these #initiatives! These last two months have been an opportunity for LallianSe to connect with key players in health innovation, both internationally and locally.

#ASIIA x @Hôtel-Dieu

In collaboration with @Hôtel-Dieu, ASIIA continued its development on the sidelines of the Agora du soin digital. Beyond sharing best practices, ideas and innovation perspectives, we wanted to open a privileged space for dialogue to address the challenges encountered by #startups from AP-HP, but also to involve them in finding solutions. Between privileged meetings and dedicated information sessions, the objective was clear: to confront promises with the reality on the ground and co-construct concrete solutions to move forward. Also a source of inspiration, the #Harvard Chair of Translational Medicine presented and discussed during an extraordinary session with Gabriela Apiou-Sbirlea to improve and develop our French ecosystem!

The MedTech Conference x HLTH Inc.

At LallianSe, as you know, we like to break down barriers, make barriers porous and offer sideways steps. With her dual role as CEO BrainTale and President of #LallianSe, Julie crossed the Atlantic to participate in The MedTech Conference in Toronto, then in #HLTH24 in Las Vegas with the French delegation led by Business France.

Investment prospects, market development, opening of activities and M&A while displaying strong and international ambitions – these events allow us to prioritize and organize our ambitions! It is also an opportunity to open spaces for exchanges and dialogues, to anticipate challenges and explore solutions together.

Next step? LallianSe is preparing for #medtechmalta2024 with Giovanni Lauricella, but also #JPMweek next January. Great moments to come… will you join us?

Eurasanté

At the same time, we continued our partnership with Eurasanté during NutrEvent, a key event for innovation in nutrition and health. This partnership allows us to stay at the forefront of tomorrow’s solutions and to actively participate in the evolution of practices in these areas. Happy as a #Health Integrator to support these #initiatives and contribute to the emergence of #opportunities for #collaborations between players in the ecosystem.

#SUCCESSES

The recent successes of our partners and the initiatives we have supported perfectly illustrate our commitment to supporting ambitious projects.

Fabentech 

In October, Fabentech, a French #biopharmaceutical company specializing in the development and production of therapeutic products against biological threats that we have been supporting for several years, announced financial support of €20 million from the EIB and the HERA Invest program. Fabentech is continuing its trajectory and is completing the first steps of its #equitystory. This success is a concrete example of our ability to support innovative companies in their financing journey, by enabling them to gather the resources needed to accelerate their development. Congratulations to Sébastien IVA and the entire team for this major milestone.

BrainTale

🧠 The brain is mysterious. There is much to explore…

We also increased our support for BrainTale, which launched two significant initiatives this month: from their #manifesto to the launch of their #podcast, “The White Side of the Brain,” featuring inspiring conversations from leaders who will share their visions and expertise, BrainTale is at the forefront of brain health innovation! We were pleased to share the very first episode: 🎙️ #1 Unraveling the Mysteries of the Brain: #Coma and the Hidden Role of #WhiteSubstance with… Professor Louis Puybasset, co-creator of BrainTale and Head of the Intensive Care Unit at the Pitié Salpêtrière – Charles Foix University Hospitals (APHP), hosted by our host Anna Casal.

One of the pillars of our mission, sharing knowledge and expertise is indeed one of our key missions, and in recent months we have actively worked to disseminate knowledge.

Execute a good equity story to bring the right investors on board!

This was the theme addressed by our webinar. It addressed 2 key axes to deliver the right #equitystory, by 2 #ExpertsLallianSe since 2016: Stéphane MILOT  outsourced financial director, he spoke on a mechanism that is always discussed, often neglected and almost systematically misunderstood, with a useful reflection: key person insurance. Alongside him, Olivier Favre-Bulle: #CMC director and sometimes also in operations management, he shared his expertise on the importance of implementing a robust CMC strategy from the earliest stages. To orchestrate it all Julie Rachline : CEO LallianSe with a dual role as entrepreneur and ex-investor, she defined what an #equitystory was before specifying the importance of the quality of the people who make it come alive: such as Stéphane and Olivier.

At the beginning of the school year, we had the pleasure of welcoming Geoffrey Klein, the guitarist, to our team as Startup & Innovation Manager.

After 5 years of pharmacy at the Université de Bordeaux, and a master’s degree at ESCP – MSc Biopharmaceutical Management, Geoffrey brings his talent to support our ambitious projects, build our #equitystories and enrich his skills in #management, #strategy and #finance
